About the conference

For more than two decades the International Economic Relations and Business Department at the Univeristy of National and World Economy in Sofia is hosting one of the most prominent International Scientific Conferences in Bulgaria and on the Balkan region. It is a venue for high-level academic discussions and cooperation, presenting good publishing opportunities to established scientists and young reserachers. Year over year the number of participants has grown substantially as well as the international representation.

The conference is dedicated to the problems of the Bulgarian accession to the European Union and to the contemorary challenges following the accession. The organizers accept papers in English and in Bulgarian language within the following scientific themes:

European Union - state and prospects for development
The European Union in the world economy
International competitiveness of the European economy
Management of European projects
International management and marketing
International Business
International Finance
Sustainable development – European aspects
Innovation, entrepreneurship and digital transformation
Legal aspects of the European Union
International tourism - state and prospects

The papers undergo a rigorous doble-blind peer review process and the Books of Proceedings (one Book of Proceedings for the papers in English and one for the papers in Bulgarian) are Indexed in CEEOL.

Registration

Dear Authors,

In order to register for paricipation in the conference, you need to fill in and send an Application form (linked here) latest by 15 September 2025. The Application for paricipation includes a section where you should provide an Abstract of not more than 200 words.

Dear Authors,

Please, send us Application for participation by 15 September 2025. The application form can be found in the Registration section of this web page. It also provides for an abstract to be included.

The papers in English will be included in an English volume and the papers in Bulgarian will be included in a Bulgarian volume of conference proceedings. Both will be offered for indexing by CEEOL.

The submitted papers should be checked for originality and undergo double blind peer review process.

For the technical layout of the reports, please use the following template.

Please, along with your paper, attach the following:

Declaration of consent for indexing in CEEOL (signed and scanned)
Personal Data Declaration (signed and scanned)
Result from the originality check of the paper. The authors who work on an employment contact at UNWE should use the following link for the procedure. All other authors can use any other program to check the originality of their paper
Co-authorship declaration in case of co-authoring a paper. A template for the declaration can be found in the respective section of this web page
